A space shuttle game for kids · iPhone & iPad

Fly a space shuttle.
Launch to landing.

In Penny & Peter Perry's Shuttle Mission™, you're the pilot. Load the shuttle, light the engines, set a satellite free, ride through the fire of reentry and land it on the runway.

Launch Control

T–10

Try the real launch: tap IGNITE when the clock shows 5. You get one second!

The whole flight

Eight phases. You fly every one.

Most space games skip to the fun part. In this one, every part is the fun part. Scroll down and fly it.

Phase 1

Load the shuttle

Punch in your crew code, then race up the launch tower with food, water and oxygen before the clock runs out. Three strikes and you're out!

Phase 2

Launch

Tap IGNITE at T-5, steer along the guidance needle, ease the throttle through the rough air, then drop the two boosters and the big orange tank.

Phase 3

Make orbit

Point the nose the right way and fire the engines at just the right spot on the map. Two good burns and you're circling the Earth.

Phase 4

Deliver a satellite

Fly the robot arm, lift a brand new satellite out of the payload bay and set it free. Gently. No bonking the wings!

Phase 5

Catch and fix

From the cockpit window, line up on a drifting satellite and creep in to catch it. Then your pilot floats out on a spacewalk to fix it.

Phase 6

Come home

Spin around and fly tail-first, then burn the engines until the landing marker sits right on the runway pin. Burn too long and you'll come down short of the runway.

Phase 7

Ride the fire

Belly first into the air, glowing hot. Hold the nose in the green so the tiles don't cook, and bank in big S-turns to bleed off speed.

Phase 8

Land it

Follow the runway lights down a steep glide, flare, drop the gear, touch down and pop the chute. The shuttle lands as a glider, so there's no going around. Make it count!

Six missions

Every mission is harder than the last.

Start with a simple up-and-back. Finish by delivering one satellite and catching another, with tighter targets and rougher air each time.

  1. First Flight

Launch, make orbit and land. Your first time in the pilot seat!

    Launch · Orbit · Reentry · Landing

  2. Special Delivery

Carry a brand new satellite to orbit and set it free with the robot arm.

    Launch · Orbit · Deploy · Reentry · Landing

  3. Satellite Rescue

Chase down a broken satellite, line it up in the window and catch it.

    Launch · Orbit · Dock · Reentry · Landing

  4. Telescope Tune-Up

Meet the space telescope, catch it, and help fix its blurry eyes.

    Launch · Orbit · Dock · Reentry · Landing

  5. Moonlight Landing

Deliver a satellite, then a gusty reentry and a night landing by moonlight.

Night launch · Deploy · Night landing

  6. Double Trouble

The big one: deploy one satellite AND catch another. Tight targets!

Every phase, all in one flight

The crew

Meet the crew. Tap one to say hi.

Everyone in the game talks, out loud, the whole way up and back. You choose who flies with you: Penny or Peter.

Who's flying today?
Built to be flown

A kids space game you really fly.

  • A real 3D shuttle

Painted to look hand-drawn. It rolls on the climb, flips for the burn and banks through reentry.

  • Every line spoken

Flo, Buck, Penny and Peter talk you through it, with real voices and mouths that move.

  • Training Help

Wider targets, friendly tips and a gentle hand on the stick. Miss twice and Buck offers to fly it.

  • Strikes and continues

Old-school arcade rules: three strikes, three continues. Older kids get a real challenge.

  • Night flights

A floodlit night launch and a landing by moonlight in Mission 5.

  • Practice any phase

Stuck on landing? Fly just that part again, as many times as you like.

  • Feel it

The phone rumbles at liftoff and thumps when the boosters drop and the wheels touch down.

  • Plays anywhere

No internet needed. In the car, on a plane, or in a blanket fort.

For parents

The good kind of screen time.

It's an astronaut game for kids that teaches the real thing: the order of a space shuttle flight, why the shuttle comes home belly-first, and that slow and smooth beats fast and sloppy. They'll be telling you about it at dinner.

How a space shuttle flies, explained for kids →

  • No ads. Not one.
  • No accounts, no chat, no strangers.
  • Collects nothing. Progress is saved on your device and never leaves it.
  • Plays offline.
  • Talks out loud, so early readers can follow along.
  • Training Help is on from the first flight, and you can turn it off when they're ready.
  • Gentle failure. A missed landing is a cartoon “oops,” then try again.
Coming soon

Clear the tower. It's almost launch day.

A few questions

Ground control, we have questions.

Is it hard to fly?

It starts easy and gets harder with every mission. Training Help is on from the start: it widens the targets, gives tips and gently helps steer. Miss something twice and Commander Buck offers to fly that part for you.

Does it need the internet?

No. Shuttle Mission plays completely offline, and your progress is saved on your device.

Can kids who are still learning to read play it?

Yes. The crew talks you through every step out loud, so early readers can follow along by listening.

Is it a real flight simulator?

It's a cartoon game, not a simulator, but it follows the real order of a space shuttle flight: countdown, liftoff, booster and tank separation, orbit burns, the deorbit burn, reentry and a runway landing. Here's how the real one flew.

Which devices does it run on?

iPhone and iPad. It's coming soon to the App Store.

Who flies, Penny or Peter?

You choose. Pick Pilot Penny or Pilot Peter before you fly, and they'll ride with you through the whole mission.
